Jewelry Care

If you take proper care of your pieces, they should last a lifetime. Please try not wear them while swimming, Jacuzzi-ing or bathing.

Please do not store your jewelry in the cardboard box that I use to mail you your piece. Cardboard has an acid in it that breaks down silver. Ugh. I learned the hard way, believe me! I have placed your piece in an anti-tarnish bag that works fine for storage. You can use the mailer cardboard box for other little things! Or put it in recycle!

Please do not use harsh chemical cleaners. A lot of my pieces have patina and some jewelry cleaners can easily remove that patina. On most of my personal pieces I clean with a quick scrub with toothbrush and dish soap. Then I polish with a polishing cloth. I include a piece of a polishing pad with each purchase. That should shine up your piece pretty nicely.

Turquoise is such a soft stone. It can be easily dented and chipped when knocked around too much. Extreme temperatures can affect the stones as well. Just be mindful. As a musician I have ruined several beautiful turquoise bracelets while playing tambourine of all things!

If you have purchased a piece of mine and for whatever reason need me to shine it up for you, email me. I can probably do that for you, or at least walk you through how to do it yourself. I have also included a small shine cloth with your piece for those in-between professional cleanings (if needed).

If for any reason the piece is not holding up to your normal daily wear, please contact me at rockandcrow@yahoo.com and I will try to remedy the situation.
